Our chosen charities for 2010
Each year a group of hotel employees called
the 'Staff Consultative Committee' meet to nominate
selected charities to work with for the following twelve
months. This year our chosen charities are the Children with
Special Needs Foundation, Macmillan Cancer Support and Surrey Going
for Gold.
Children with
Special
Needs Foundation
The ‘Children with Special Needs Foundation’
was established in 1995 by Gordon and Ann Parris with a sole
purpose to help children with special needs in the Surrey,
Hampshire and Berkshire region.
From the money raised so far they have been
able to help hundreds of children and their families, in many cases
as individuals or collectively, through their schools or other
charitable organisations.
The charity boasts a handsome list of famous Patrons including
Gary Lineker OBE, Tom O'Connor and Bruce Forsyth as well as more
locally based individuals who have a special interest in the
Foundation.

£16,000 raised at Rugby Dinner!
In March 2010, RFU England TEAM Manager Martin Johnson delighted
assembled dinner guests here at Pennyhill by answering
questions on all manner of rugby related topics. The evening raised
a magnificent £16,500 for the Children with Special Needs
Foundation and Surrey Going for Gold.

Macmillan
Cancer Support - Surrey
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of
people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical and
financial support and push for better cancer care.
Macmillan in Surrey is chaired by Irene
Bothomley and the team are actively fundraising
to provide help to families throughout Surrey.

The 'Going for Gold Charity’ was formed in 2008 to help develop
Camberley Judo Club and other sports clubs in the county
Camberley Judo Club which has been active for over 20 years, has
had a long and positive association with the Australians with the
National Team as well as individual athletes preparing for major
events with members at the Camberley Club over many years. Run on a
totally voluntary basis the Club has produced numerous European and
Great Britain Champions as well as many Olympians with one of their
biggest triumphs being Karina Byant.
